Free e-invoice JSON generator (IRN and QR code)
Make the e-invoice file the Invoice Registration Portal (IRP) accepts, from a tax invoice typed here or from an Excel sheet of many invoices. Upload it with your own portal login, bring the reply back, and print each invoice with its IRN, Ack No. and signed QR code. Free, no account, nothing sent to us. Many invoices? Use the Excel upload below.
Many invoices at once from Excel
Bill many customers in a day? Fill one Excel sheet, one row per item, and make a single e-invoice file for all of them. Then load the portal's reply here, and every invoice prints with its own IRN and QR code.
How to make an invoice here
- Type your business details once. GSTIN, address, City / town and PIN code: the IRP needs all of them. Saved businesses appear as you type.
- Add the buyer and the items. Choose Tax invoice, type the buyer's GSTIN (or use "Get name and address from this GSTIN"), their city and PIN, and give every item a 6- or 8-digit HSN or SAC code.
- Open "E-invoice and e-way bill" below the items. Choose the type of supply (B2B for a normal sale) and your turnover band, so the 30-day check knows your limit.
- Press "Download e-invoice file". If something is missing, a list tells you what to fix. Otherwise a .json file is saved in Downloads. Don't open it: it is for the portal.
- Upload it on the IRP. Sign in at einvoice1.gst.gov.in (OTP on your registered mobile), go to e-Invoice › Bulk Upload, choose the file and press Upload.
- Load the portal's reply here, then Save and Print. Press "Load the portal's reply file" and choose the result you downloaded from the portal. The invoice now prints with the IRN, Ack No., Ack date and the e-invoice QR code.
What it does for you
- Checks before you upload: GSTIN check digits, City and PIN, HSN length, invoice number pattern, today's GST rate list, IGST for exports and SEZ, the 30-day limit for ₹10 crore+ businesses. Fewer rejected files.
- One invoice or hundreds: type one here, or fill our Excel template (one row per item) and make one file for the whole day.
- Prints the portal's numbers: IRN, Ack No., Ack date and the signed QR code are drawn on the invoice from the portal's reply, as the rules require.
- E-way bill together: tick one box and the transport details go into the e-invoice file, so the IRP makes the e-way bill too.
- Warns if you change it later: an invoice edited after it got its IRN no longer matches the portal; the maker tells you.
- In your language: 24 languages on screen; the invoice and the file stay in English, as the portal and your buyer need.

Everything you type is kept in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded to us. Questions people ask
Is this an official government tool?
No. Nivesh Sahayak is not part of GSTN or NIC. It makes the file in the official format in your browser; you upload it yourself with your own login on the IRP, which checks and registers it.
Do you upload my invoices to the portal?
No. There is no server and no API login. The file is saved on your device and you upload it. That is why it is free, and why your portal password never comes near us.
Can I make e-invoices for many invoices at once?
Yes. Use "Many invoices at once from Excel": fill our template, one row per item, and download one file for all of them.
How do I get the QR code on my invoice?
After the upload, download the result from the portal and press "Load the portal's reply file" here. The signed QR code, IRN and Ack No. then print on the invoice.
My turnover is below ₹5 crore. Do I need this?
No, e-invoicing is not compulsory for you. Your normal GST invoices from billing.niveshsahayak.in are enough. If you cross ₹5 crore in a year, it applies from the next financial year.
Can I make the e-way bill at the same time?
Yes. Open Transport details in the e-invoice section and tick "Also make the e-way bill together with the e-invoice". The IRP then makes the e-way bill from the IRN.
